Ilulissat, anteriormente Jakobshavn ou Jacobshaven, é a sede municipal e a maior cidade do município de Avannaata, no oeste da Groenlândia, localizada a aproximadamente 350 km ao norte do Círculo Polar Ártico. Com uma população de 4.541 habitantes em 2013, é a terceira maior cidade da Groenlândia, depois de Nuuk e Sisimiut. A cidade abriga quase tantos cães de trenó quanto pessoas. Em tradução direta, Ilulissat é a palavra em kalaallisut para “icebergs” (dinamarquês: Isbjerge). O fiorde de gelo de Ilulissat, nas proximidades, é um Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO e tornou Ilulissat o destino turístico mais popular da Groenlândia. O turismo é hoje a principal atividade econômica da cidade. O município faz divisa com o Fiorde de Gelo de Ilulissat, onde há icebergs gigantescos provenientes da geleira mais produtiva do hemisfério norte.
